GORONTALO - The Institute for Learning Development and Quality Assurance (LPPPM) held a workshop on policies and implementation of international accreditation for institutions and study programs, which was held on the 4th floor of the Rectorate Building. The meeting was attended by the heads of study programs and heads of departments within UNG on Monday (3/4).
In the workshop, the Rector of UNG, Eduart Wolok, stated that the current excellent accreditation at several study programs of UNG should not be the final achievement. Further, he encouraged the other study programs and departments to keep up the good work to earn the same accreditations. Thus, it meant that the work of the academic community was not finished. The achievement also aimed to inform other universities that UNG did not stagnate and was not resigned to circumstances.
"As proof, when our accreditation is excellent, the interest in applying to UNG has increased dramatically in the last three years," said the Rector.
UNG, said the Rector, still has many study programs that are still accredited B, which reaches 40 percent of the total study programs, so it is a future task to improve the accreditation. Hence, human resources must be improved, too, as it is one of the basic prerequisites regarding the case.
"Apart from excellent institutional accreditation, currently, there are 5 study programs at UNG that have been internationally accredited, and these study programs are parts of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and Faculty of Letters and Culture. This achievement further shows that the quality of UNG is ready to compete through achieving accreditation," he concluded.
