The University Library is one of the main elements in supporting the Tri Dharma of Higher Education activities or can be called the heart of Higher Education. The University Library is a means to fulfill the information needs of the academic community, especially students and lecturers. Library collections are very important to continue to be developed in accordance with the development of information from time to time, the development of information will increase the use of libraries in meeting the information needs of students and academic communities of higher education in general.

User needs to fulfill useful information as a support for learning activities for the entire academic community. Everyone's information needs are different. So are the information needs of other library users. So that the information is not up to date and does not match the current information needs of users. The library should be able to provide information needs for its users to maximize the function of the library and user utilization of the library in order to fulfill the information needs of the academic community.

With the existence of libraries supporting the fulfillment of information for its users. Therefore, libraries as information providers, it is time to position themselves as leading institutions where currently all societies globally have moved towards the need for information as the main component of modern society.
