Universitas Negeri Gorontalo has the trust of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, as a university that will carry out the academic selection of in-service teacher professional education. As one of the Teacher Education Institutions, UNG will carry out a domicile-based online academic selection for 5 selection periods in 2022.

Director of UNG Teacher Professional Education Prof.Dr. Nurhayati Abbas, M.Pd. said that the academic selection is a forum for competency selection which is carried out simultaneously online, to measure understanding of the concepts and materials of the seven learning achievements.

"Academic selection is carried out online based on domicile. This is done because in a pandemic situation the implementation of academic selection is the most possible, namely online based on domicile," Nurhayati said.

According to her, the PPG academic selection period 1 will be attended by 3,944 participants spread from various regions in Indonesia, with a two-day selection process starting on April 9 and 10, 2022.

"To support the implementation of the selection, we have recruited and conducted training for supervisors for exams that will be held in the future. In addition, trials of the implementation of the exams are also carried out so that they can strengthen the implementation of the exam," she explained.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Harto Malik, M.Hum, said that the appointment of UNG as the organizer of the domicile-based online academic selection is an honor for UNG. This certainly proves that UNG has the quality so that it is trusted by the Ministry to carry out such a big activity.

"We must prove the trust that has been given to us by trying to make this academic selection a success. Of course, the support of the entire committee and the examination apparatus will be very important so that all stages of the exam can be carried out properly and optimally," he hoped.
