GORONTALO – To strengthen student understanding through practical activities in the field, nursing professional students will carry out practical activities at the Ratumbuysang Mental Hospital in Manado City.

According to the head of the nursing profession program, Dr. Nasrun Pakaya, S.Kep, Ns., M.Kep, the class of 2021 nursing profession students will be practicing for one month at RSJ Ratumbuysang as part of strengthening their skills.

"Practice at the hospital is part of the application of psychiatric nursing practice which is directly applied to patients," said Nasrun.

During the practice, nursing profession students will be accompanied directly by psychiatric nursing lecturers, so that students apply the knowledge they have mastered through practice on patients later.

“It is hoped that students can apply the knowledge gained in class, especially the practice of mental nursing to patients directly. In addition, students are also required to be able to recognize and take urgent and planned actions for mental nursing patients," he concluded.
