Gorontalo: With the State University Entrance Selection System launching by the College Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT), Gorontalo State University actively disseminates information about the State University Entrance Selection stage to the community.

Information dissemination carried out by UNG through holding socialization and promotion activities for SNMPTN and UTBK-SBMPTN, by presenting the Principals of SMA/SMK/MA in Gorontalo Province and School Operators, Wednesday (20/1), at the TC Damhil UNG Ballroom.

According to the Chairperson of the Socialization Committee, Wahidun Usulu, S.Pd, the Principal and Operators are invited to the socialization because both had essential roles in student participation in SNMPT and UTBK-SBMPTN.

"After receiving detailed information, we hope that the principal can forward it to the students. So, they can understand the stages of the SNMPTN and UTBK-SBMPTN 2021," said Wahidun.

This socialization was supposed to be held online, but some schools asked for an onsite meeting. However, the implementation is carried out following the Covid-19 health protocol established by the Government.

"Socialization participants are required to wear a mask during the activity, and the seating arrangement implements physical distancing. Body temperature of participants was measured and obliged to wash their hands or use a hand sanitizer before entering the meeting location, as a means to prevent the spread of Covid-19," he explained.

Meanwhile, UNG Rector Dr. Ir. Eduart Wolok, S.T, M.T, in his speech, said the socialization agenda related to SNMPTN and UTBK-SBMPTN is needed to share understanding for the new student registration procedure in 2021.

"The community, especially students, must completely understand the registration procedure. Do not let a lack of understanding about SNMPTN and UTBK-SBMPTN result in wasted opportunities to continue education at tertiary institutions," concluded the Rector. (**)
