Gorontalo - The Rector of Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, the Chairman of the Gorontalo Province KPU (General Elections Commission) and the Chairman of the Gorontalo Province Bawaslu (General Elections Supervisory Agency) signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding the implementation of the Emancipated Learning: Independent Campus (MBKM) Project in the Village Entitled "Political Education and Participatory General Election Supervision in 2024" which was held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at in the UNG Senate Meeting Room.
In his remarks, UNG Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Eduart Wolok, S.T., M.T. said that the 2024 MBKM focusing on Political Education and Participatory General Election Supervision program was the first in Indonesia.
"This is the first time that Gorontalo will be a pioneer to take part in monitoring general election participation in Indonesia," he said.
While the Chairman of the Gorontalo Province KPU Fadliyanto Koem, S.Ag, M.Pd., thanked UNG for initiating this program.
"Thank you, Mr. Rector, I think this is an extraordinary contribution as it is our homework in 2024, that we must boost strengthening or improving the quality of participation after we succeeded in achieving the quantity of participation nationally in 2019," he said.
Chairman of the Gorontalo Province Bawaslu Idris Usuli, S.Pd., S.H., M.Ap. said that Bawaslu needed community participation.
"We’re confident that teaming up to monitor this participation will make the quality of elections in Gorontalo even better," he said.
He continued control of the campus would have a very good impact on Bawaslu.
"We hope today’s agreement will make Bawaslu and the KPU even stronger in performing our mandate in the future," he hoped.
