GORONTALO – Mentoring is one of the focuses of the Community Research and Service Institute (LPPM) in encouraging and increasing the quantity of intellectual property for lecturers in the UNG environment. This time, LPPM collaborated with the Ministry of Law and Culture of the Gorontalo Provincial Office in assisting lecturers in applying for intellectual property. Chairman of LPPM Prof. Dr. Ishak Isa, M.Si, revealed that the mentoring program was a strategic step for LPPM in encouraging an increase in the amount of intellectual property produced by UNG lecturers. This is very important so that research conducted by lecturers and students is not only a reading material or reports that are often unpublished.
"In this assistance, the team from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights will provide enlightenment regarding the intellectual property registration process, as well as what tricks are needed in its submission so that it can meet its rules," said Prof. Isaac.
In encouraging the amount of intellectual property of lecturers, LPPM does not only focus on assisting submissions. However, LPPM currently continues to facilitate lecturers for intellectual property application fees and for this year, LPPM has targeted financing for approximately 250 intellectual property and patents.
"It is hoped that mentoring efforts can increase intellectual property and patent registration in UNG," he hoped. (**)
