GORONTALO – The 2022 Presidential and Vice Presidential Executive Board (BEM) election stages have come to an end, along with the determination of the pair of candidates number three: Dea Rahmawaty Hasan and Moh Rizki Budikusuma as the winner of the most votes with a total of 6,533 votes.
The students’ participation in e-voting has reached 13,335 votes, which have greatly increased compared to last year's election.
"Pilbem 2022 has gained the most participation of students with 13,335 votes. This number increased rapidly compared to last year, whose voters were 11 thousand students," said Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Karmila Mahmud, MA, Ph.D.
She stated that this increase shows that more students are aware of the importance of their voting rights in choosing the head of Student Executive Board (BEM).
"With the students’ participation, it shows that they do have concern in BEM, which will be expected to voice out student aspirations to university leaders," he explained.
He views this increase of voters as an inseparable part of the e-vote implementation. With the e-vote system, it is so much easier for students to be able to vote wherever they are.
"With the e-vote system, students will not find it difficult in using their rights to vote wisely and responsibly, in choosing the candidate pair without the need to come. " he concluded. (**)
